1) Common unit

This kind of generator sets operate all year round and are generally located in areas far away from the power grid (or municipal power) or near industrial and mining enterprises to meet the construction, production and domestic power consumption in these places. In areas with rapid economic development, because the construction of power network can not keep up with the needs of users, common diesel generator sets with short construction cycle are set up to meet the needs of users. This kind of generator set generally has large capacity, provides continuous power supply for unsteady load, has no limit on the continuous operation time, and allows 1 h overload power supply time every 12h, and the overload capacity is 10% of the rated output power. Due to its long operation time and heavy load, the allowable power relative to the limit power of the machine is adjusted to a low point.

2) Standby unit

Under normal circumstances, the power required by the user is supplied by the municipal power supply. When the municipal power supply is cut off or interrupted for other reasons, the generator set is set to ensure the basic production and life of the user. Such generator sets are permanently used in important power users such as telecommunications departments, hospitals, industrial and mining enterprises with tight municipal power supply, airports and television stations. This kind of unit is always in standby state and can provide continuous power supply to unsteady load.

3) Emergency unit

For the electrical equipment whose sudden interruption of mains power will cause great losses or personal accidents, emergency generator sets are often set to supply emergency power to these equipment, such as fire-fighting system of high-rise buildings, evacuation lighting, elevator, control system of automatic production line, important communication system and medical equipment undergoing important surgery with patients. Such units shall be able to operate quickly in case of sudden interruption of mains power

Start up and run quickly, and provide stable AC power to the load in the shortest time to ensure timely power supply to the load. This unit requires a high degree of automation.

(7) According to the classification of control and operation mode, it can be divided into on-site operation generator set, compartment operation generator set and automatic generator set.

2) The operation parameters of the diesel generator room and the auxiliary generator room are monitored and controlled separately. Compartment operation can improve the working environment of operators.

3) Automatic generator set. After years of research by relevant units, the automation of diesel generator set can be unattended, including unit self start, automatic voltage regulation, automatic frequency regulation, load regulation, automatic paralleling, automatic increase and decrease of unit according to load size, automatic fault handling and automatic recording. The printer set can be automatically started 10-15s after mains power interruption to replace mains power for power supply.

(8) According to the classification of automation function, it can be divided into basic diesel generator set, automatic start diesel generator set and microcomputer automatic control diesel generator set.

1) Basic diesel generator set is common. It is composed of diesel engine, closed water tank, oil tank, muffler, synchronous alternator, excitation voltage regulator, control box, coupling and chassis. The basic diesel generator set has the function of automatic regulation of voltage and speed. Generally, it can be used as main power supply or standby power supply.

2) Automatic starting diesel generator set is to add automatic control system on the basis of basic diesel generator set. It has the function of automatic start. In case of sudden power failure, the unit can automatically start, automatically switch, automatically operate, automatically send points and automatically stop; When the oil pressure is too low, the oil temperature or the cooling water temperature is too high, it can automatically send out audible and visual alarm signals; When the unit is overspeed, it can automatically stop the emergency to protect the generator set.

3) The microcomputer automatic control diesel generator set is composed of diesel engine, three-phase brushless synchronous generator, automatic fuel supply device, automatic oil supply device, automatic cooling water supply device and automatic control cabinet. Automatic control shall be controlled by programmable logic controller (PLC). In addition to the functions of self start, self switching, self operation, self input and self shutdown, it is equipped with various fault alarm and automatic protection devices. In addition, it is connected with the main computer through RS232 communication interface, centralized control, remote control, remote signaling and telemetry, and realizes the requirements of unattended.
