What are the precautions for using coolant in diesel generator set?

The cooling liquid used for the cooling system to directly cool the diesel engine of diesel generator set is usually clean fresh water, such as rainwater, tap water or clarified river water. If well water or other underground water (hard water) is directly used, because they contain more minerals, it is easy to form scale in the water chamber of diesel engine, affect the cooling effect and cause failure. If the conditions are limited, only hard water is used, It must be softened before use. Softening method: boiling method - boiling water to precipitate; Add 0.67g caustic soda (caustic soda) to each liter of water, stir and precipitate with clean water on the upper layer.
When the diesel generator set is used under the environmental condition of lower than 0 ℃, the coolant shall be strictly prevented from freezing, resulting in the freezing crack of relevant parts. Therefore, the coolant of each part shall be drained every time the diesel engine ends operation. For models with closed circulating cooling system, antifreeze coolant with appropriate freezing point can be used according to the local minimum ambient temperature. The formula of common coolant is shown in the table below (for reference when you need to use it).
When using flammable antifreeze coolant, attention should be paid to fire safety because ethylene glycol, alcohol (ethanol) and glycerol are flammable. Before using antifreeze, the dirt in the cooling system of diesel engine shall be cleaned to prevent new chemical deep objects from affecting the cooling effect. For diesel engines using antifreeze coolant, it is not necessary to discharge the coolant after each shutdown, but its composition needs to be supplemented and checked regularly.
If there is too much scale and dirt in the diesel engine cooling system, it can be cleaned with cleaning fluid. The cleaning solution can be prepared from water, soda (Na2CO3) and water glass (Na2SiO3), that is, 40g soda and 10g water glass are added to each liter of water. During cleaning, fill the cleaning solution into the cooling water chamber of the diesel engine, start up and operate until the outlet water temperature is greater than 60 ℃, continue to operate for about 2h, stop, and then discharge the cleaning solution. After the diesel engine is cooled, wash it twice with clean fresh water, drain it, fill it with cooling water, start up and run it to make the outlet water temperature reach more than 75 ℃, stop and drain the sewage, and finally fill in new cooling water.
