Vibration fault is a common fault type in the operation of generator. It is usually caused by the imbalance of rotating part of generator, electromagnetic or mechanical fault.

During the operation of the power plant, the working performance and working state of the generator have a very important impact on the work of the power plant. To improve the operation quality of the generator, we must start from the prevention of generator failure. The impact of generator vibration fault is relatively large. In the process of daily operation, the cause of generator vibration fault must be found and repaired and maintained in time to reduce the occurrence rate of generator fault.

Vibration is a normal phenomenon of generator in normal operation. This vibration is a regular vibration, and the amplitude of the vibration will not be too large. Therefore, the impact on the operation of the generator is also within the allowable range, so it will not cause other accidents.

However, during operation, if some abnormal vibration exceeds the bearing range of the generator, the operation stability of the generator will be affected. The hazards caused by abnormal vibration of generator mainly include the following aspects:

First, vibration will lead to looseness of components at the connection of generator set, such as looseness or fracture of anchor screw;

Second, the abnormal vibration will lead to the loosening of the secondary pouring body of the generator base, resulting in cracks at the foundation;

Third, the abnormal vibration will cause the shaft sealing devices of the flow passage part of the generator to rub against each other, cause serious wear, and cause the main shaft of the equipment to bend;

Fourth, the sliding pin is worn, which will affect the thermal expansion capacity of the generator and cause serious potential safety hazards;

Fifth, abnormal vibration will lead to looseness and wear of the rotor retaining ring of the generator. In serious cases, it will cause core ring damage and insulation wear of the line, leading to short-circuit fault and grounding fault.
