Do you know how to maintain the battery of diesel generator set?

1. Wipe the outside of the battery with a wet cloth, and wipe away the dust, oil stain, white powder and other dirt that are easy to cause electric leakage on the panel and the pile head (i.e. the positive and negative poles). In this way, the battery is often scrubbed, the pile head of the battery will not accumulate white acid corrosion powder, and its service life will be relatively long.

2. Open the water filling cover of the battery to see if the water level is in the normal position. Generally, there will be upper and lower limit markings on the side of the battery for your reference. If the water level is found to be lower than the lower mark, distilled water must be added. If distilled water is not available at once, filtered tap water can be used for emergency. Water cannot be added too much. The standard is to add it to the middle of the upper and lower markings.

3. Check whether the battery is charged normally. If you have a three-way meter, after starting the diesel generator set, measure the voltage at the two poles of the battery. It must be more than 13V before it is normal. If you find that the charging voltage is too low, you need to ask a professional to overhaul the charging system. If there is no three-way meter, visual inspection can be used: after the engine is started, open the battery water cap to see if there are bubbles in each small cell. The normal situation is that bubbles keep coming out of the water, and the more you refuel, the more they will come out; If you find no bubbles, there is probably something wrong with the charging system. Special attention should be paid to that hydrogen will be generated during the inspection, so do not smoke during the inspection to avoid the risk of explosion and fire.
