What is the reason why the water temperature is too high when the diesel engine is running and what should be done?

The reasons affecting the high water temperature during diesel engine operation are as follows:

1. Insufficient coolant

This is an easy situation to observe. Just open the engine compartment and observe whether the cooling liquid level meets the requirements.

2. Poor operation of water pump

Sometimes the water pump belt will slip and idle due to long service time. When this problem occurs, the main feature is that it will return to normal after stepping on the accelerator for a period of time.

3. The water temperature sensor, instrument and circuit are abnormal

If the above problems have been eliminated, the high water temperature may be caused by the failure of water temperature sensor or the failure of instrument and circuit. At this time, it is necessary to go to the maintenance service point for detailed inspection in time.

4. The water tank fan does not turn

The simplest way to check whether the water tank fan works normally is to turn on the refrigeration system. If the compressor has been started and the fan is not running, the fan must have failed; When the water temperature sensor is disconnected, the fan will run by itself to protect the engine. In this case, the water temperature sensor can be unplugged for judgment.

5. Poor heat dissipation of radiator

This happens mostly in summer. During the inspection, you only need to open the engine hood to observe whether the radiator behind the bumper is mixed with too many foreign matters. If the radiator is blocked too seriously, you need to go to the repair shop for cleaning.

6. The thermostat cannot be opened normally

In this case, the coolant cannot circulate normally and cannot play the role of cooling at all. It is mainly manifested in that the water tank and return pipe are at room temperature (they should be hot under normal circumstances), and the upper and lower water pipes will become very hard due to the expansion of gas in the water pipe.
